Do you want to break out of a rut? Want a more fulfilling way to get involved in the marketing community? Then you belong with us! AMA-KC has several different committees in which you can get involved to network, broaden your professional skills or just meet new people. From helping with programming to recruiting new members and meeting young professionals, there are a variety of ways to get involved - and make the most of your membership.
And AMA-KC is always looking for great marketing professionals. Committee Descriptions:
Interactive Media/Web Site
Committee Purpose:
Partner with the web site provider to assist in communicating our brand and mission to our members, potential members, and sponsors related to brand and the chapter mission statement.
Benefit to Volunteer:
People interested in working on this committee will have the ability to reach out and interact with other volunteers on AMA-KC's Program committees to help keep the Chapter web site relevant, up to date, and useful to members and prospects.
Marketing/PR/Newsletter
Committee Purpose:
Partner with other committee members to design and print the monthly newsletter and prepare and distribute news releases to the media on speakers, members, and Chapter affairs.
Benefit to Volunteer:
People interested in working on this committee will have the ability to reach out and interact with other volunteers on AMA-KC's Program committees to gather information on the programs and events that must be promoted. If you're in the communications or a related industry, volunteering on this committee is a great way to build your skills, resume and networking contacts.
Programs
Committee Purpose:
Manage the major program initiatives for the AMA-KC Chapter. From monthly luncheons to networking events, this committee books speakers and retrieves marketing information related to their presentation to create a balanced program of educational and networking opportunities for members and other marketing professionals in the community.
Benefit to Volunteer:
People interested in working on the Programs committee will have the ability to reach out and interact with marketing trendsetters and leaders – a great way to build your list of contacts!
Membership
Committee Purpose:
Create new membership promotional campaigns to increase membership of the AMA-KC chapter. Assist in promoting social events and member activities. Highlight active members in the newsletter and web site.
Benefit to Volunteer:
Explore and provide creative and timely human-interest stories to local and regional Kansas City media regarding AMA-KC chapter member accomplishments. It’s a great way to interact with and get to know your fellow members.
Collegiate
Committee Purpose:
Keep membership high via outreach efforts to members. Greet and acknowledge new members at events; reach out to members whose terms are close to expiring; initiate correspondence with information about the KC–AMA; and maintain an ongoing dialogue with members to ensure their needs are being met.
Benefit to Volunteer:
It's a great way to interact with and get to know your fellow members. Express your creativity by organizing networking get–togethers and socials!
