Job Objective: Responsible for managing the product planning and maturation process to meet corporate objectives. Evaluates potential and current customer segments to define and improve SMG’s competitive position. Analyzes client research, market conditions, competitor data to implement marketing plan. Prioritizes and manages product enhancements, readying new offerings for marketplace success. Works closely with sales team and directly with clients to shorten sales cycle.
Responsibilities:
• Responsible for the marketing of SMG’s core offering to the retail and restaurant segment, inclusive of life cycle planning, line extensions, etc.
• Performs analysis to understand retail/restaurant segment and anticipate customer needs.
• Owns the product vision and product roadmap.
• Plans and manages launch of new offerings.
• Develops annual marketing plan in conjunction with Sales department detailing objectives, strategies and tactics.
• Evaluates new markets for entry, including specification of requirements for future products.
• Drives new solution development across teams through creation of market requirements, product contract, positioning and go to market plans.
• Oversees corporate website, inclusive of all enhancements.
• Determines trade show participation.
• Manage all aspects of sales tool production and distribution.
Job Specifications:
• 6-8 years of product management experience in B-B environment. Sales experience helpful.
• Extensive experience in all aspects of developing and implementing product marketing strategies to meet organizational objectives.
• Technically competent, including knowledge of database, data warehousing and web technologies.
• Knowledge of retail and restaurant industry.
• Comfortable with customer analytics and statistical analysis.
• Excellent communication and language skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to interact with all levels of management.
• Self starter, independent and highly motivated.
• Experience building and maintaining corporate websites.
• Willingness to lead cross-functionally in a strong matrix organization.
• Proven ability to oversee marketing, advertising and promotions.
• Fluent in all MS office applications, experience with CRM solutions.
